Job description: Someone with experience in linux kernels, familiarity
with Redhat Athena, and knowledge of NFS and/or AFS file-serving
needed to 1) upgrade several linux PCs from Redhat 4.2 to Redhat 5.2,
patching/rebuilding kernels to add in lab-specific device drivers; 2)
explore file-serving options for a network of over 10 linux PCs and
implement new file server; and 3) perform hardware tasks such as
installing and rearranging SCSI disks, lab-specific hardware, network
cards, etc.
Duration: 6-9 months, part-time (2-3 days/week); or summer, full-time
with possible 1-day/week extension into the school year
