My home system (which has one of each) announces, when it comes up:
Floppy drive(s): fd0 is 1.44M, fd1 is 1.2M
while quiche is only announcing fd0. (Use /etc/dmesg to check, you
don't need to reboot just to see the message again.)
It just occurred to me that there is usually some BIOS configuration
of the floppy drives. You should try checking that. (Dig into either
linux-dev or lpos-dev to find the instructions on *getting* into the
BIOS config, it's kind of tricky...)
