*sigh*. I'm sorry to have aggravated things by being unclear.

When I said we were missing large pieces of discuss and moira, I meant
that the makefiles went off and looked for things that weren't there.
I think there may have been something wrong with the backup I made,
although nothing went wrong when I made it. Because I made the
backup, and it was my fiddling that messed up the partition, I felt it
was my responsibility to repair the damage by redoing them as quickly
as possible. I never meant to imply that Sal's work was defective in
some way.

We still have the source trees that were in the backup. (For that
matter, we still have the backup.) It could be that I was just
confused, in which case we can go back to what was there. I'll take
another look at what is there to see if that makes more sense than
what I thought before. At any rate, all of the directories apart from
discuss and moira look okay so far.

Hrm, I didn't notice this. I do have it creating the directories it
needs before installing.

Oh, we have the tape drive working, incidentally. That should make
backups a bit easier, if we can find enough tapes for it.
