I've finished installing all of the Debian distribution (except for
the quota stuff and some of the mailreaders). There were a few minor
nitty things wrong with it (e.g. 'sync' and 'shutdown' have
passwords--maybe 'shutdown' should, but 'sync'?), but on the whole, it
looks pretty good.
/usr/athena/src is not /usr/src/athena, and there's no src
subdirectory.
I'm using vmlinuz.complete as the kernel; I'll build a vmlinuz.quiche
and install it at some point.
X doesn't work. Something to do with the mouse. I'll look into it
later.
When there's a Debian source distribution, I may blow away /usr/src
and replace it with that, since the file system layout is now
different from what /usr/src will install into.
I'm currently building gcc 2.5.5. I doubt that I will finish before I
go to the movie. I may be able to get Kerberos working in the
meantime.
I'm going to write up some notes on installing things for SAL machines
in /afs/sipb/project/linux.
