Partway there. I've got a compiled perl5.004 sitting in the
perl5/.build directory. I'll try to install it on Sunday.
(I'll make a new i386_linux3 directory, and then selectively deny
myself AFS bits during the install, so that arch/i386_linux3/bin
gets new executables, but arch/share/bin does not.)
Note that this is just the base perl install -- I haven't
recompiled any extra modules (like Tk or whatnot).
