I've noticed some strange behavior on 5.2a machines in
relation to matlab. Starting matlab (add matlab; matlab&)
creates two perl zombie processes, as follows:
espiekos 17202 0.0 0.0 0 0 p1 Z 17:48 0:00 (perl <zombie>)
espiekos 17203 0.0 0.0 0 0 p1 Z 17:48 0:00 (perl <zombie>)
This happens on all three 5.2a machines I've tested it on
and doesn't happen under 4.2. I'm not even sure where to
begin looking to figure out why. In any case it seems
odd and it makes startup time for matlab take longer.
If anyone has any hints, I'll poke around and see what else
I can dig up.
