I will be at Chris Murphy's talk at the TANSTAAFL today, and hopefully
will be able to talk about our port.
I edited /etc/exports to restrict access to *.mit.edu, in light of the
ITAR.
I nuked /usr/athena/src/{kernel_fix,xlib_fix}, since the kernel bug
has been fixed in pl14 and the xlib bug wasn't actually what was
causing the spinning processes (because _XIOerror() rarely returns).
I've copied a compressed tarfile of src in /usr/athena/src/ into
/mit/linux/backups, just so we have a backup. Hopefully, later today
or sometime this weekend I will be able to modify the perl synctree to
be able to extract just the source files from our source trees, and
back things up that way.
I'd also like to be backing up /usr/src to tape every month or so,
because it does take a fair bit of effort to assemble the right
versions of everything and keep track of how to build them (in the
foo.mk files). Perhaps I should learn how charon backups are done.
