In the short term, I replaced equal-rites with a nearly identical
piece of hardware which has more memory and a SCSI controller with a
1GB disk attached. Unfortunatly, when I downgraded from 2.0.36 to
2.0.35 (for AFS), the machine no longer recognized the SCSI disk. If
anyone can do anything about that, you'll have a gigabyte of local
space to play with (I had it mounted under /home in /etc/fstab, but
that's commented out now).

svalente and warlord are in the .klogin.

The medium-term plan is to install a 6GB internal IDE disk in
equal-rites. But I have to wait for said disk to be ordered and
arrive first. When it comes time to switch back to the old piece of
hardware, I'll preserve the data on /home if people have managed to
get /home to mount.
