Eric,

Kevin Fu forwarded your message (below) to me.
I just blanched onto net-defense (rovnyak).
I am planning on offering an IAP course aimed at
new Linux users on how to develop a good security
policy. I decided to do this based on several
breakins I had to deal with this summer.

Kevin thought that the net-defense meeting
might be a good place where people could suggest
corrections, additions, improvements and so on to
the syllabus I have prepared
(http://tachyon.mit.edu/rovnyak/net-sec.html).

I guess I just wanted to introduce myself
and let you know that I was hoping to ask for
volunteers to assist with suggestions, corrections
and so on at the net-defense meeting as I feel that
security-related material, even at an introductory level,
should not be presented without some external review.

If a date has been set already, could you
drop me a line?

Thanks,
David Rovnyak, G-5, Course 5

I'm trying to organize a net-defense/net-security/linux-dev meeting
for this week to discuss what can be done to prevent the
current rash of break-ins. Each of our groups has been
developing solutions internally, but I think it would
be worthwhile to coordinate our efforts.

In order to find a good time and room, please let me (nygren@mit.edu)
know if you plan to attend and whether you'd be available for one of
the following times this week: W4, W5, R4, R5

I'll try to find something that works for as many people
as possible, but I doubt I'll be able to please everyone.

	Erik
