The tamu distribution source tree is intensely cool. I have it
mounted as /usr/src on the main (SLS) partition because it seems to
belong there. (I fixed the /usr/include symlinks to find the source
of the kernel we're currently using. Ask me if you want to know what
the hell I'm talking about.) (The directory that was /usr/src has
been moved to /usr/src.old until everyone decides that there was
nothing worth keeping in there, and we nuke it from orbit.)
If there's ever a working nfsd for Linux, we really should NFS export
the tamu source tree. It would be a really huge service. (If we can,
we should NFS export it from a machine less likely to be rebooted.)
I made the kerberos and zephyr binary packages a week ago. They're
sitting in /mit/linux/packages. I would tell people about them, but
I'd kind of like to try them out first. That means - it would be
really good to get the tamu partition configured to be on the net.
Does anyone want to try to get that working? (The rc files are weird,
it looks like configuring it will be a minor annoyance.)
P.S. I copied login.krb from the Sep 30 build tree in /home/eichin to
/usr/athena/etc/login.krb. (I think I know what happened to the one
that was installed there with the rest of the krb stuff, but that's
not important right now. :-)
Have a nice day.
