Well, I applied Ted's patch and built a new kernel and tried doing an
intensive workload (ie, two "find /afs/sipb/project/sipb/src/src -exec
md5 {} \;" processes) and after about a few minutes, things
went crazy and directories started going away. I rebooted
and cleaned the cache and when things came back, netscape
had truncated my bookmarks (I had to recover from oldfiles).
So, in summary, this doesn't seem to fix the problem.
