Erik,
I've heard the problem from a number of people, but I've never been
able to reproduce it with any disk that I've created myself. The only
thing I can think of is that people are making the boot disk without
first formatting their floppies, and the dd isn't copying everything
properly.
The install program has always been compiled on the same computer
using the same libc. So, that cannot be a factor.
I dont even see where "invalid argument" can come into play! Can you
physically get me a boot disk which fails to work? If I cannot
reproduce the problem, I cannot solve it.
