Even though Emil is going to be gone (and I know a lot of SIPB
Linux-Dev people might be gone), I'd like to hold a meeting next week
to discuss this. How many people can make a meeting on, say, Monday
evening, 8:30pm in the student center (8:30 should be well enough
after the sipb meeting)?
I know this is late notice, and I'm willing to push the meeting back
if people cannot make it. I'd like SIPB people there so we can decide
what SIPB-Linux should look like for the Frosh, and I'd like the AI
Linux Hackers there since you seem to have had a lot of experience
with setting up a good installation system.
A tentative agenda for the meeting:
introductions
discussion of current situation
discussion of the various Linux Distributions
(maybe) decide on distributions to support and/or recommend
to incoming frosh
set action items for people to work on
set a date for another meeting, if required.
So, who can make it? Who is interested in this? Who things that this
is a terrible idea and I should crawl back into my hole?
Although I'm not going to ask for RSVPs, I would like to get a handle
from people if they this is a good idea, who can make it, who can't
make it, or if there is a better time. So, if you feel like speaking
up, please email me.
So, I hope to see many of you on Monday. Feel free to forward this to
as many others as you'd like.
