Over the past few months, I have been trying to keep current
versions of the Kerberos 5 clients and servers (things like rlogin,
telnet, and GSS-API ftp) in the krb5 locker. I have been using
Kerberos 5 to get to my machine since late December, and things have
been working fairly well.

In the interest of finding problems while we can still fix
them, I would be interested in asking people to install the Kerberos 5
servers (klogind, kshd, etc) on their machines and try out the new code; to make this easier, I
have written up some instructions to simplify the process. Look at
http://web.mit.edu/krb5/www/athena_host_install.html.

Send problems with the organization of the krb5 locker, or the
installation instructions to krbdev, and general bug reports with the
software to krb5-bugs. There isn't really a good place to send usage
questions at the current time; I will try to answer questions I get in
personal mail, but it isn't really that different from Kerberos4 once
you get it working.

Note to Linux and NetBSD users: Currently, SIPB-Athena does not obtain
krb5 tickets. In order to make use of the new clients, you will have
to run /mit/krb5/bin/kinit and when you're done
/mit/krb5/bin/kdestroy.
