Okay, here is how things are:
* maze:/u1 is gone, along with the 2.3.0 distribution we had
there. maze:/var/slackware still works for now.
* small-gods is exporting a directory /slackware, which is a
350MB partition.
* There is a local group "slack" on small-gods, which an write
to /slackware. Currently, it contains sit, fubob, and
joanna, since they were the last three people I remember
touching the slackware archive. They also have accounts on
the machine. Talk to me if you want to be added to this
group.
* /slackware contains subdirectories 2.3.0 and 3.0.0, as well
as a symlink current -> 3.0.0. Users should use the
"current" symlink unless they have a preference for version
number.
* Emil has copied maze:/var/slckware to
small-gods:/slackware/3.0.0. /slackware/2.3.0 is still
empty.
People modifying /slackware on small-gods must run "umask 002" before
creating files or directories, or other people in group slack will be
unable to use the product. I've put a note in /etc/motd to this
effect.
If you change anything, make sure the installation documentation
remains correct.
