hi, i'm writing to commend you on a relatively easy installation process.
i'd never installed linux before, but i was able to move right along and
install afs, zephyr, and a bunch 'o other stuff.

I noticed a couple packages (i think the zephyr package--the zhm program in
particular) refered to different path names in the documentation and in the
tar archive. but i was able to fix that up reasonably well.

problems i'm still having:

i've installed attach.gz, but I don't have 'add'

i've installed zephyr, but I don't have 'punt' (for 'punt zwgc')

a general lack of binaries--matlab, for instance. where do i get these?

how can allow other people to connect and use my box as an X client? i.e.,
using XDCMP or whatever... I get errors consistently on the TCP open call.
(i can provide more information if required, but i'd have to look it up!)

i'm a little confused as far as the order in which various scripts are
started up. (i've changed shells to tcsh, if that affects any of this.)
from what i've absorbed, init calls /etc/inittab which does all kinds of
fun stuff like start dm. (random- should i be at run level 5 or 4?). then,
when someone logs in, (this is where the confusion begins) the shell is
fired up (?) and the shell reads its config (?) .cshrc (?) and then runs
.login (?) ... i'm a little perplexed. specifically, i've had a very
difficult time adding /usr/athena/bin to my path, and i've put it in
.login, .csh.rc, and everything else i can think of! :)

Thanks for your help,

Ed
