Do me a favour, mate.
Heh, I suppose you get your numbers from Steve Jobs ? NET has also got
its gaps, and again the open source community has stepped up to fill
them. It leads to all kinds of bizarre curiosity and speculation.
The big question for Microsoft's "Iron Ruby" is how compatible will it
be?
More information on the project is available on the patent office Web
site. I'm a rather odd choice for this panel as I make a point of
looking backwards rather than forwards, but we'll see how it goes.
Microsoft's intentions for Ruby are currently much less clear.
This is the second recent incident in the last month at the university
involving the potential compromise of sensitive data belonging to
students and staff. As you know, OS X is not a monolithic piece of
software, and I find it unlikely that a full version of the desktop OS
will run on the phone. That was fun while it lasted. Apple's AirPort has
historically been unsupported under linux - this might have changed
recently.
They have announced Ruby as a language for scripting Silverlight - but
that still leaves a lot of open questions. Meanwhile, hackers are doing
a better and quicker job of exploiting vulnerabilities in corporate
networks.
I'm a little nervous about the iPhone.
We covered rumors about ZFS support a while ago.
So they can get their touchscreen iPod, and I can get my iPhone. Haven't
used them in years, but they did great emulation and I was very happy
with them.
