I received some email from the editor of OR/MS Today, a non-technical
magazine for Operations Research/Management Science academics and
practitioners. They are looking for some writers for a new math-oriented
column. I'll let Peter's own words describe what he is looking for:

> ... we are looking to launch a mathematics-oriented column in OR/MS
> Today, again something non-technical in nature. The column would
> explore interesting new trends and ideas in the field as it relates to
> OR in a "newsy" style, keep our readers up to date on meetings and
> seminars, discuss topics of interest, first impressions of new
> software, etc. I was wondering if you could put a notice on your math
> software bulletin board that we were looking for someone interesting
> in authoring one or more such columns (we expect the authors to
> rotate) or coordinating the column, that is lining up topics and
> authors. Interested folks could contact me via e-mail, or by phone
> (404) 431-0867.

The publication looks a bit more like a magazine than an academic
journal, with a format comparable to less-technical IEEE magazines.
As far as writing goes, its non-paying, but its probably good experience
for getting published for people who dream of growing up to be the
next Carl Sagan. :-)

Oh, and no, I have no particular association with that organization,
other than (hopefully) having them publish an article that I'm working
on.
