How to use this Guide

Chapter 1, Introduction to Maple, gives an overview and introduction
to Maple. It describes Maple's syntax and provides many examples of
numeric and symbolic calculations, graphics, and programming in Maple.
If you are not familiar with Maple or would like a quick review, start
with this section.

Chapter 2, User Interface, describes the graphical worksheet interface
and the text-based command-line interface for Maple.

Chapter 3, Subject Listing, groups all the commands in Maple into
categories according to their function. You can use this chapter to
browse through all of the commands in Maple or to find the name of a
particular function or option.

Chapter 4, Descriptions of Commands, lists all Maple commands
alphabetically and gives a synopsis and template for each.
Most listings include at least one example.

Chapter 5, Electronic Resources, describes the share library, electronic
mailing lists, news groups, and other resources available electronically.

Chapter 6, Frequently Asked Questions, answers some questions users
commonly ask about Maple.

Chapter 7, Mathematica to Maple, may be useful if you are already familiar
with Mathematica. It compares the two systems and lists Maple analogues
for many common Mathematica commands.

Chapter 8, Learning More, lists other sources of information on Maple,
including several publications and user groups.

Chapter 9, Glossary, defines some of the terms used in this guide.

Chapter 10, Tables, summarizes Maple's operators and special punctuation
marks.
