We finally have had a chance to kick the tires on the Zephyr system and
have a couple of questions. We are using Hesiod but have not configured
the compile for Kerberos. Our environment uses Hesiod for uids, gids,
services, printcap, automount maps, etc.
The zephyr.sloc entry in Hesiod consists of one machine, which is the one
setup as a server below. It looks like:
zephyr.sloc IN TXT "abcdefg.eng.hou.compaq.com"
We confirmed that we have the following
/etc/services entries:
zephyr-clt.service IN TXT "zephyr-clt udp 2102"
zephyr-hm.service IN TXT "zephyr-hm udp 2103"
zephyr-hm-srv.service IN TXT "zephyr-hm-srv udp 2104"
1. Our current test setup consists of two Sun systems running 4.1.3_U1.
One is setup running zephyrd, the other as a client. Both are running
zhm and zwgc. If we want to just use the defaults as defined during
the install for testing (the top of our install tree is at
/usr/local/zephyr), do we need anything else other than what is in
etc/zephyr relative to this root?
2. We configured syslog.conf for local6 notification and noticed that
when zephyrd starts up we get a lot of the following:
Apr 24 15:20:42 abcdefg zephyrd[12345]: select error: Invalid argument
The output of zstat on the server looks like:
Hostmanager stats: abcdefg.eng.hou.compaq.com
HostManager protocol version = ZEPH0.2
Current server = abcdefg.eng.hou.compaq.com

At this point, it hangs.
We are running the 2.1-beta1 release.
At this point, we have no joy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
