From: David Simmons <simmons@EE.MsState.Edu> Date: Tue, 11 Jul 1995 15:48:04 -0500 To: raeburn@cygnus.com Cc: zephyr@MIT.EDU Does anybody else have problems with the zephyrd from Zephyr 2.0 beta dying at random times? I have zephyrd's running on a SunOS box and a Linux box, and they are both dying every so often, like once a day or so. I'm running non-athena, and I haven't tried the second beta yet. I was just wondering if anybody else had experienced this before I try to track down the problem. Regarding "Re: ??? Yup, Zephyr works great under Linux. > If you mean DOS or Windows, no, I haven't tried it, and I don't expect > to any time soon. (I don't run DOS often, or Windows hardly at all.) Technically, you could probably write a quick hack of a program that would gateway zephyr messages to the little windows popup-thingie (I think the samba code provides a means under Unix to send windows popups). However, I'm not a DOS/Windows user either, so such a product probably won't come from me. :) David --- David Simmons, System Administrator simmons@ee.msstate.edu Mississippi State University Electrical and Computer Engineering Visit my home page! http://www.ee.msstate.edu/~simmons
