Jay Laefer (mostly) and I (some debugging) have modified zephyr to
allow inter-realm support. We have been running it for some time now
with communication between two realms here at CMU. The only
requirement is that both cells need to have exchanged keys.

To the best of my knowledge though, you would not be able to run our
servers connecting to athena's servers, unless they also upgraded,
since their servers offer no inter-realm support.

The source code is available in
/afs/andrew.cmu.edu/system/src/local/zephyr/028. I can place it on an
anonymous ftp server for anyone without access to afs if you send me
email. I am also willing to help if you have any questions about
setup or compilation. It is currently being used on pmaxen (ultrix),
sparcs (SunOS) and hps (hp-ux).
