Hello,
I am involved in a potential challenge, based on the Zephyr work, to a
patent {5,187,787 (Skeen et. al.)}. The Digital Patent Law office is now
turned on to this and they will need the following types of information:
anything which shows that the patent covers 'prior art':
- Published articles
- documents placed in the MIT library or, otherwise made available
to the public
- Zephyr documentation, source code, etc placed on the network
for general public availability.
Basically, if any or all of the above information can show that the
invention covered by 5,187,787 is essentially the same as art embodied in
the Zephyr work, and such publications, etc pre-date the patent filing,
then Digital may decide to submit a challenge to the patent.
Anyone who can provide me with pointers to such sources, please do so. This
will help greatly. Time is of the essence.
Thank you, and may you have a Happy Holiday season!
