I want to copy files from an older PC (Win2K) to a new PC (Win2K) and would
prefer not to go through the tedious process of reinstalling everything. I
have a copy of Norton Ghost and can copy an image of my existing C:
partition to the new machine. Unfortunately, due to smaller disk sizes, I
have additional disks on the old machine which have program files on them
(which I would also like to move to the new machine).
Does anyone know of a registry editor which will allow me to make global
changes (e.g. change all occurrences of "E:\program files\" to "C:\program
files\")? CleanSweep (acquired some years back by Symantec) used to have a
"Registry Genie" feature which did this nicely in Win95, NT 4.0, etc., but
I don't know if there are now similar tools which support Win2K. Any
ideas? Thanks in advance.
