Whether I use the 'at' command from the command line, or the GUI Scheduler.
I encounter a problem:
I have a bunch of Powerpoint files. They are *.pps files that run by
themselves when you click on them.
I found that when you ask the scheduler to run these files, they do not
autorun, they open Powerpoint in the 'compose mode"-- not really useful to
me, since I want this to run unattended. When I create a 'cmd' file which
merely contains the name of the file (' show1.pps' for example) the darn
thing doesn't run-- or rather exits with a code of 1 which means "incorrect
function".
I know that for a while, I had this working. The scheduler is not totally
broken, because I can put the *.pps files in it, and it will at least bring
up Powerpoint. However, a one line cmd containing the name of the file
(which should start due to its established association) does not work.
I have set the account that the scheduler uses from 'System" to the account
I use, and I have reset it back to System, but I don't think that's the
problem. I have made sure that me and the System have permissions on these
files. But these babies just sit in the scheduler, and when their allotted
time goes by, they exit with a code of 1.
Any ideas? Thanks
