Hi Kerem,
Dell PowerEdge servers can ship with Dell Raid controllers. I forget the
name of the card and associated software, but it's standard for all of
their raid enabled systems. It is hardware based, of course, and you can
hit a key sequence to access the controller card bios and modify the
raid configuration.

I am wondering if any of you currently use systems with or freestanding
RAID solutions, and if so, what brands, models, arrangements, and for
what
purposes. I am also interested in software as well as RAID solutions and
"makeshift" RAID arrangements (eg. software RAID in WindowsNT4/2000 with
add on UltraDMA/xxx controller and bunch of identical drives, etc.) I
can
elaborate more if you have any questions.
