Meeting Start Time: 12:10pm
-Had some food
-Discussed new web site updates and new forums.
-Should forums be open to people outside of MIT?
-Should forums be located only at forums.mit.edu?
-If so, then interface needs to be improved.
-What other categories and forums should we include?
-New forums are located at: http://pub84.ezboard.com/bmitwinpartners
-In order to use the new forums you will have to sign up for an
account at EZBoard.com. Please note that you should use a different
username and password from your Kerberos username and password.
-Request for suggestions and help with the web page and forums. Please
email suggestions to winpartners or post them directly on the forums in
the suggestions forum.
-Asked for topics for later meetings. The following were suggested:
-Backups (explanation of the TSM system and of other alternatives)
-File Sharing between UNIX and Windows (Samba, NFS)
-Explanation of what MIT is working on with regards to Windows and
Windows applications
-Discussed the specifics of some departments' network and sytem
configurations.
This weeks attendance was low due to the conflict with the ITAG
luncheon.
Please note that the meeting minutes will be posted on the public forums
mentioned above. Also, future meeting agendas will be posted there as
well and will be open to suggestions/modifications, etc. Please make of
use of these newly created forums.
