Hi.
Some of our frequent traveler faculty and staff use AOL to connect to the
web, then check Eudora e-mail over it. In the past this has worked just
fine (saving MIT long-distance charges in the process). However, with
Windows 2000, it says it can't find their PO box. In Windows 98,
installing AOL creates an AOL adapter, and AOL instance of TCP/IP in
network properties. I'm guessing that was the way it picked up MIT's
network properties and that's why it worked. It no longer does that (i.e.
no trace of AOL in network properites), so I guess it's not picking up the
network settings. Does anyone have a guess as to how I can work around
this? I haven't gotten an answer from AOL after 3 days, so I'm not hopeful
they'll help me out.
