Though Windows 2000 domains are very different animals, and they are not
allowed on MITnet currently, a standalone Windows 2000 server can be a
member server in a Windows NT 4.0 Domain. It will not be able to leverage
all of the features and headaches of Active Directory, but it does retain
much of the added functionality and stability of Windows 2000. Windows 2000
Member Servers in an NT 4.0 Domain or Standalone servers are permitted on
MITnet.
