Folks,
I'd like to call the first in a series of regular meetings of the
Windows NT working group. The first meeting is set for the hour after
OCMG's meeting time on Tuesday, Sept.30, at 4pm, in the same room OCMG
uses, the second floor conference room of E40.
Agenda for the first meeting is the issue of guidelines and best
practices for setting up a departmental NT server. The outcome of this
effort is a set of notes that IT Partners can use to guide their efforts in
setting up central servers. There are at least four or five of us who have
set up such servers around IS, and I'm sure we can come up with some best
practices tips in fairly short order.
Please RSVP so I have a sense of how many of us are likely to come. I
envision this meeting as including IS folks (and close, close friends) and
occurring every two weeks for about an hour.
(There is a separate meeting of NT Partners -- the users' group, really
-- that occurs on the fourth monday of each month at noon, usually in the
Visitor's Center. The next one is October 27. I expect some of the
content we develop at these biweekly meetings will be the offering for the
content section of the monthly community meeting. I will also be looking
for folks to help talk about technical issues at the monthly meetings --
volunteers?)
Thanks for joining in!
Rob
