Good Afternoon,
Information System is happy to announce support and recommendation for
Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5 and associated hotfixes.
During the testing a few problems were encountered and solutions
found. More information on these can be found at
http://web.mit.edu/is/help/winnt/sp5.html. The list of recommended
hotfixes is at http://web.mit.edu/is/help/winnt/sp5hotfixes.html. One
addition to this page that is an improvement from the SP3 recommendations
is the reason why each hotfix was or was not recommended for MIT.
Be sure to read the readme and update your Emergency Repair Disk before
installing any Service Pack or Hotfix. If you experience problems or have
questions, please contact the Computing Helpdesk at computing-help@mit.edu
or at x3-1102 for support.
The Service Pack 3 recommendations will remain available for reference, but
will not be updated. We are not prepared at this time to provide support
for SP6.
