Hello Partners.
I will be away on Monday and would like to cancel this Monday's NT Partners
meeting. Instead I would like interested parties to attend the "Travelling
with Your Computer" session being held Monday at noon in the N42-Demo Center.
If you've missed the email about this workshop here it is again:

Overview
--------
We expect that lots of you (or users that you support) will be traveling
this summer with laptops. Come hear about options for getting prepared
before taking a trip. Please feel free to forward this e-mail to someone
you think may be interested.

buiding N42.
Monday 5/24 - Windows
For Windows 95/98/NT, Noon - 1:00 pm in the Demo Center, building N42
Session Topics
--------------
We'll present information on a few alternative internet service providers,
info on forwarding your e-mail, how to connect to Tether from long-distance
and tools that you may not be familiar with, but that would be helpful to
know about when traveling. The session will touch on the following areas:
* Good practices, testing, and bookkeeping before you leave
* Software and configuration before you go
* Connecting
-- Tether & adapting it for travel (long distance dialing, use of calling
card)
-- Use of alternate dial-up service providers (cutting cost w/ local
dialing, what MIT services are/aren't available)
-- Use of web-based freemail services (security issues, forwarding from
another account)
* Special equipment for international travel, theft protection
* Considerations re: international travel
* Other sources of laptop and travel info
* Q&A: Other computing issues while away from MIT
