Hello Everyone,
We have been seeing a number of problems with NT 4.0 SP4, so we recommend
you not to install it outside of test machines. To touch on a few of the
issues:
-Kerberos 4 and 5 have problems working on machines with static IPs that
occassionally use dialup.
-SP4 pathced machines have been found to be vulnerable to LSASS.EXE DoS
attacks.
-Problems installing SP4 128 bit over SP3 40 bit have been reported but not
confirmed.
So, please hold off a bit in installing the service pack until others break
their systems testing it and Microsoft puts out more fixes. If you want a
stable operating system, you should avoid leading (aka bleeding) edge
software. Just remember SP2.
