Re: HostExplorer 8.0 Release Effort Underway
The HostExplorer Release Team has begun the effort to deliver
HostExplorer 8.0 to the MIT community. The release effort will focus on
testing the product, creating documentation for the product, gearing up
support, and packaging the product for the MIT environment.
HostExplorer 8.0 marks the first upgrade to the currently supported
version in over three years. Significant changes and enhancements have
been made to the program in that time. Version 8.0's key features
include:
-Certified for Windows 2000 and designed for Windows XP
-Contains more than 50 new major features and enhancements
-Host Address User Interface Enhancements
-Layouts save window positions and sizes in the exact same place
they were on the screen when saved.
-Event Manager is a powerful new tool which enables users to let
HostExplorer automatically react to certain events.
-XTerm like behavior enables the user to increase the number of
lines and columns displayed when resizing the terminal window.
-Multiple Screen Printing enables a user to capture screens
while navigating through an application.
-Enforced and strengthened security
