NERCOMP's User Services Special Interest Group is pleased to announce
an upcoming workshop:
THE SOFTWARE RELEASE PROCESS -
MAKING IT ORGANIZED, EFFICIENT AND PREDICTABLE
Variations in the computing environment and the availability of
hundreds of software titles in academia can put a strain on support
resources. In this time of economic constraint, making the most of
limited resources is more important than ever. MIT Information
Systems launched the Software Release Team in 2000 as a way to make
the process of releasing supported software for Macintosh, Windows
and UNIX-based computers organized, efficient, and predictable. They
currently manage the release of 40+ products.
Take a day out to get an in-depth look at how the software release
process works at MIT, including process management, testing,
customizing installers, and coordinating with stakeholders and others
whose work is affected by this process.
