Hi Dave,
This can be done for Internet Explorer by modifying the security on
'iexplore.exe'. Go to C:\Program Files\Internnet Explorer. Right-click
on IEXPLORE.EXE and select the Security tab. Select 'Advanced', and
double-click on 'Users'. Then uncheck the 'Traverse Folder/Execute File'
box for Users. Make sure that 'Users' is the last entry, and that
there is an appropriate entry for 'Administrators' before 'Users' in the
list. Test this carefully before you release the machine for production.
This assumes that you have the same kind of default IE security that I
had. Do the same for Netscape.
If you want to restrict only some users, create a group and modify
'iexplore.exe' for it in the way I suggest for 'Users'.
