Hello. Please do not send email to a mailing list, asking to be added
or removed from it. That is impolite because it bothers all the
recipients when only the list administrator is able to help you.
Try using the command:
athena% mailmaint
and follow the easy on-screen directions.
This usually works if you have an Athena account and are dealing with a
Moira list (one that has a name of the form listname@mit.edu).
If you do not have an Athena account, send mail to
listname-request@mit.edu (just append a `-request' to the name of the
list) and that should get to the person responsible.
If you are dealing with a non-Moira list, try the -request thing; it is
an Internet standard. If that fails, talk to someone who has
experience or read the help files.
Thank you,
Mike Jacknis
