NEWSFLASH - McDONALDS END SALE OF MAD COW BEEF IN UK!

In an annoucement made shortly before midnight
a McDonald's spokeperson announced that McDonald's UK
was suspending the sale of British beef in the UK.

Pressure on McDonald's had come from the McLibel Support campaign and the
McInformation Network (McSpotlight) who revealed court transcripts in which
McDonald's had said that should it ever be discovered that British beef was
a threat to human health due to Mad COw disease, that they would not sell it.

McDonald's claim to have complete confidence in the safelty of British beef
but say that they coustomers wish them to take this action.

McDonald's in the UK's biggest purchaser of beef in the UK.
Parts of 1 in 12 UK cattle end up in McDonald's burgers.

This could represent a significant step towards the end of the British Meat
Industry. Animal farming and human relience on animal products in food is a
major cause of human ill-health, enviromental destruction, water pollution,
resource waste, and animal suffering.
