Hi everybody,

This email pertains to the upcoming Thistle issue 10.4 which will
be all about veg issues.

Here are articles we have planned. Please, if any of the topics below
interest you, volunteer to help write. This issue will be a
tremendous accomplishment for all of us. We are planning to
distribute it widely on the day of the Meatout. If no one's name is
beside the article, that means it hasn't yet been claimed. If you
would like to volunteer to write, but don't want the responsibility
all by yourself, I will take the responsibility of finding you a
co-author(s). I can also point you in the direction of sources of
info. First drafts should be in by the weekend of March 9.

Veg-issue topics:
-----------------

The Politics of Nutrition (Laura & Matt)

Factory Farming (Nedda, ____?)

Meat and the Environment (Aaron, ____?)

The Great American Meatout

McLibel Trial Update (Matt)

Overview of Scientific Studies Supporting Veg*ism (Laura & Matt)

Common Myths about Vegetarianism

The Vegan Movement

Peace and Vegetarianism

Famous Vegetarians - compilation

Resources for Vegetarians - WWW, veg groups

P.S. A new email list is being set up to facilitate communication,
called "veg-thistle". You can subscribe yourself or let me know and
I'll put you on.
