As a new semester arrives, I would like to announce (& review) where
on campus MIT Foodservice offers vegetarian foods, as well as mention
some of our recent accomplishments.

Note: l-o = Lacto-ovo vegetarian (may contain egg or dairy products)
v = Vegan (contains no animal products)

MIT Foodservice has gone on-line. To see current menu options at any
time, or to access other foodservice information, view our web page at

BAKER: (open from 5-7:30 on Sundays - Thursdays for dinner)
Vegetarian options here have dramatically improved over the past
semester & IAP. Baker is the place to eat dinner for vegetarians on
campus!

Phil (Baker Dining Manager) has been working hard to add both
new vegetarian (esp. vegan) foods to his menu. His full salad bar
includes tabouleh, hummus, chic peas, pasta salad, & more. Every
day two vegetarian sandwiches are cooked to order: grilled cheese &
the Light Burger. The new Light Burger has replaced the Garden Burger
at Baker, because it contains no egg or dairy & is completely VEGAN!

Bakers menu for the week looks like this:

        M: Eggplant Parmesan (l-o)
           Cream of Celery Soup (l-o)
        T: Tofu with Broccoli (v)
           Vegetarian Vegetable Soup (v)
        W: Sweet Corn Polenta (v)
           Tomato Florentine Soup (l-o)
        Th: Stuffed Zucchini (v)
           Veggie Chili (v)
        F & Sat: Closed
Sun: Sweet & Sour Tempeh (v)*

*this recipe was taken from the IAP Vegetarian Cooking Class
(Demystifying Soyfoods) & was absolutely scrumptious!

As usual, Baker will be offering at least one vegetarian entree every
day & a vegan option on tuesdays & thursdays!!!!
