Ten Reasons Why I Am Not A Vegetarian
by Rev. Sudney Laing of Dublin, Ireland
1. I was made to eat plants as a child.
2. Vegetarians are hypocrites...they reckon that not eating meat is
somehow BETTER than eating meat.
3. There are so many different kinds of vegetarianism,
I could never decide which one was right.
4. I used to be a vegetarian, but it got boring so I stopped.
5. I still at some meatless meals on special occasions
6. None of my friends is a vegetarian.
7. I'm still young--when I'm older and have gotten a bit sicker, I might
become a vegetarian
8. I really don't have the time or inclination to make such a change.
9. The cultural climate is never quite friendly enough to vegetarianism
for me to risk such a politically unpopular choice.
10. People who grow fruits, vegetables, grains, beans, nuts, and seeds are
only after your money.
--- Ten other reasons for not being a vegetarian ---
11. I watch enough vegetarian actors on TV.
12. There are lots of healthy people who are not vegetarians.
13. We've just had some significant life changes during the past several
years ago and haven't had a chance.
14. I bought some bad produce once, so I swore I would never consider
vegetarianism again!
15. I feel as close to vegetarianism on the golf course as I need to feel.
16. I never practice vegetarianism when I have company.
17. Mealtime is the only time I have to indulge myself.
18. Some outspoken vegetarians and animal rights activists are vegetarian
enough for the entire species.
19. I know people who are vegetarian but who don't act very humane,
healthy, or environmentally responsible.
20. Vegetarianism is the opiate of the masses.
Well, with enough thinking like this, we won't need Jay Leno.
Guess who...
