Hello? Just how old do you think vegetarianism is?
What more accurately needs to be addressed in the studies is *how long*
each person has been a vegetarian, to get a more accurate data sample.
I know of MANY older people who do not eat meat, or animal products. I
also know that vegetarianism goes back to Biblical times, and before. What
I suspect you are trying to say is that is has only become *popular* in
recent decades, and therefore research on vegetarianism is in its infancy.
Any accurate studies on vegetarian diets needs to take this into account.
Is anyone at MIT doing any research on this? Dr. Judith Wurtman, perhaps?
She's done a lot of studies on nutrition there, including obesity and food
choices, and food and daylight studies. Can someone find out?
