It was brought to my attention that perhaps, for the first
meeting, it would be more appropriate to go to a restaurant
since there is no time to cook, etc.
So, how about this Sunday or Monday for lunch or dinner,
perhaps at the macrobiotic place in Porter Square (does anyone
know anything about it or what "macrobiotic" means?)
Please follow up so we can organize this.

Basic info on the place appended from the Boston Restaurant List.
Macrobiotic food is based on grains and vegetables (including
seaweeds). When it's non-vegan, you find fish and other animal sea
food. It's heavily influenced by Japanese cooking styles. Flavor and
presentation vary from place to place. From bland to subtly
flavored.
Masao's is on the flavorful end and is currently my favorite eatery in
Boston. The deserts are very good by both American and vegan
standards, save room for some.
It's only a 1/2 block south of the Porter Square Red Line station.
The down side of Masao is that it is small. About 8 tables, with the
largest table sitting 6 or so. There is usually a wait on weekend
nights, but not for weekday lunch.
So if the VSG group is large, you'll probably have to split up and
some of you might have to wait.

Masao's Kitchen [Vegan Macrobiotic] -- Cambridge (Porter Sq)
[see Porter Exchange Mall], 497-7348
(very good new vegan macrobiotic restaurant; good adzuki
bean soup, macro platters & vegan blueberry "cheese" cake)
Porter Exchange Mall -- Cambridge (Porter Sq)
1815 Mass Ave
(The place to go for an authentic Japanese eating experience,
with a number of little stalls such as you might find at a Tokyo
train station -- modest and fresh food, well prepared. Includes
Kotobukiya, Ittyo, and Sapporo Ramen. There's also Seki Tei, a
sit down Japanese restaurant, a Japanese grocery, Shiatsu massage,
and Masao's Kitchen -- a macrobiotic restaurant.)
