"Steve Karian, a BVS Board member, has suggested that Lisa Simpson of
animated TV show "The Simpsons" (on Fox 25) has the personality and social
concern to become a vegetarian. Considering that The Simpsons is one of
TV's most popular shows, Lisa's conversion to vegetarianism could have a
cultural influence on millions of viewers.
"Steve asks us to help make it happen by writing to the creators and
writers. Twenty letters from us would get them thinking, especially since
Lisa's vegetarianism could suggest endless story ideas (imagine Bart
teasing Lisa at school, Homer guiltily sneaking dead chickens into the
house, etc. ). If you know the show, choose one of the following addresses
(according to your last name, for uniform coverage) and write a positive,
thoughtful letter.
