im assuming this guy got a reply to this
there is SUCH a huge difference between being used after you're dead and
while youre STILL ALIVE.  im amazed he didnt see that.

there are also more complicated issues re self-determination, even after
you are dead.  although id consider supporting a law that said all people MUST
be organ donors, whether they like it or not, im sure alot of people
would complain.  so how can you decide that for your pet?

but they big thing is the huge difference between organ donation and
"medical" research, much of which is of questionable validity (ie
applicability to humans).  also, there is a whole mindset about
justifiability of testing on animals, and esp on "unwanted" creatures.
why not test on the homeless then?

anyway, sorry im answering month-old mail, but my finals just ended :)
