minutes mostly taken by parthiv, transcribed to email by ike, "(?)"
means ike wasn't sure what parthiv wrote/meant; "?" is just a normal
question mark.
stuff we're planning:
April 28: MIT Dining Vegetarian Food Festival in Walker; veg should
have a booth there.
-target audience of booth: MIT Community (anyone but outspoken
carnivores)
-goals:
raise awareness of all aspects of "why vegetarian?"
give out local guides to being vegetarian
-we won't be giving out food at this event, because other vendors will
-we won't be showing any videos
-we should attempt to use the event as an opportunity to to develop a
relationship with the vendors who will be at the event.
SAVE event: SAVE is having an Earth Day event, or something like that,
at some time in the near future. we'd like to have a booth at that
event,
-should include all of the features mentioned for the booth at the MIT
Dining thing,
-also, we should have some free food to give out
-get A/V equipment to show a video on, if we can get it.
-take the opportunity to talk to other groups (SJC, MIT Greens,
etc.)about other possible joint events
How we want to spend our money:
spend $150 across literature to hand out and videos
spend another $150 across 3 events for the rest of the term:
$75 towards dinner outings (probably towards one big one sometime)
$25 towards an end-of-school-year potluck dinner
$50 towards food to give out at the SAVE booth or a random lobby 10
booth
if we decide we want to do one sometime.
