I'd like to see professional interest groups for vegetarians (engineers of various kinds, entrepreneurs, scientists, philosophers, etc.) where vegetarian professionals could lead the way in developing their understanding of the world, their careers and research, and vegetarianism, too - and prepare themselves to be leaders in all areas of professional and personal life, and be prepared to be visible as vegetarians.

just some thoughts on cross-interests of vsg & e-club:

i've not participated in a vsg-goes-to-a-restaurant foray
in many years, however ...

i for one would be very interested in vsg lunches and
late night tuesday dinners at the former poppa & goose
(now INDOCHINE) and the venerable, if somewhat noisy,
but /beer-enabled/ 3-ACES PIZZARIA (over by the law school)
where i and a sub-set of the mit e-club eat nearly every
week, and where we might discuss topics of interest to
vegetarians, who happen also to be doing science or
technology start-ups ...

i've recently been very pleased to learn new client-members
of the e-club (mit & harvard students, faculty, staff and
alum) happen also to be practicing vegetarians, or interested
in the idea, and i'm always pleased when at meals with them,
almost always at lunch at p&g and/or late dinner at 3-aces,
i am the more pleased to be assisting them, and possibly
working with them.

so what am i suggesting, exactly?

are you a member of vsg doing a start-up?

can't get to e-club meetings or our seminars 089 or 095?

want to get together over veg lunch or dinner to talk?

meanwhile i'll mention to students vsg's search for new officers
at our regular open tuesday meeting tomorrow (6-7pm in 56-114)
and in seminar (7-9pm in 66-148) ... i know we've veg
students among us ...

hastily, but sincerely,

-r
