SAVING THE HARVEST: A FESTIVAL FOR SUSTAINABLE FOOD
This Saturday, October 5, 2002
2:30-5:30 pm
Veggie Planet - Club Passim
47 Palmer St. (Harvard Square) Cambridge, MA
What: What: Clean Water Action's Safe Foods Campaign and Veggie Planet
have teamed up to inform the public about the dangers of genetically
engineered food and industrial agriculture, while highlighting the
variety of alternatives available in New England. Several local groups
will have tables with information, while local speakers, musicians and
performers on stage creatively explain how the current methods of food
production are harming the environment, depleting water resources and
creating a highly packaged, low nutrient food supply.
Veggie Planet and Blue Heron Farm will be providing free samples of
pizza topped with locally grown veggies.
The event is free and open to the pubic.
