Hey, all,
Did you know you can get plain lettuce & tomato sandwiches at Au Bon Pain
in addition to the "gourmet cheese" sandwich that they have on the menu?
I have recently been trying to strive for a more vegan-oriented diet - some
of the same excellent reasons for not eating meat extend to dairy products
as well - and asked one time if I could have "a gourmet cheese sandwich
without the cheese". The woman at the register said, "Oh, you mean a lettuce
and tomato sandwich? Sure." Usually I get:
Lettuce
Tomato
Sprouts
Onions
Balsamic Vinegar
Dijon Mustard
Honey Mustard
on Four Grain Bread
...and it's always delicious. So, if you feel like splurging (though at
$2.20 a sandwich it's not much of a splurge - compared to $3.25? for the cheese
version) it comes highly recommended.
Feel free to pass on other tips you might have about local restaurants or
dishes.
