On a pMAX, "-g -O" produces a warning something like "to get
optimization and debugging, use -g3". It would be nice the if the
discuss build environment were clean enough to make this change
somewhere at the top and have it propigate. (Maybe it is.. I've only
dealt with discuss 1.5.)
